One day fishing permits are available online through the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife
For salmon, halibut, and crabbing; catch cards are required. If licenses are purchased online, the catch card can take up to 7 business to receive via mail.
Licenses and catch cards can be purchases at any Washington Sporting Goods store.

Our trips are designed to be fun and educational. Our goal is to not just take you fishing, but to teach you how to fish. Our boats are outfitted with all the top-quality gear and very comfortable. Both boats are equipped with a marine head (toilet).
Our Captains are professional and offer over 25 years of experience fishing in the San Juan Archipelago. They are also quite personable, but they might just smell a little fishy.
We offer open-boat and private, custom charters. Let us know what you are looking for and we can create a trip specific to your needs. We can accommodate groups of all sizes, although the limit for each boat is 6 people. Trips depart from all ports in the San Juan Islands.

Travel Time - Since we are already in the San Juan islands it doesn’t take much travel time before we’re fishing – Never more than 30 minutes from our home port of Deer Harbor on Orcas Island or 45 minutes from Friday Harbor or Roche Harbor on San Juan Island. Often times we are fishing in just 10 minutes from Orcas Island.
In the San Juan Islands, the most common methods of fishing are – trolling, drift fishing, mooching, casting, or bottom jigging, depending on what fish we’ll be targeting.
All Bait and Tackle are Provided
We use all top-of-the-line equipment from Avet, Shimano, Okuma, and Lamiglas gear, and are suited for any type of fish you may find in the San Juan Island. We use frozen bait usually Herring or Anchovies for crab pots or Halibut fishing, and a variety of artificial lure. If you have an old betty that works for you, bring it along.
Special Consideration
It is our policy to set the departure times based on the tides, which changes day to day. When there are two potentials for the respective day, we choose the optimal tide, time of departure, within a day or two before the trip. This date is based on current results to give our customers the best opportunity for success or unless at the time of booking a specific time is requested.
